Incorporated in October 1999, Dubai Internet City became a part of the TECOM Investments division of Dubai Holding in October 2000. The largest center for information and communications technology in the Middle East and North Africa is located at Dubai Internet City. DIC, the largest ICT infrastructure ever constructed inside a free zone, was founded and developed to support information and communications technology businesses. In addition to numerous small and medium-sized businesses and entrepreneurial endeavors, DIC is home to some of the most prominent worldwide ICT giants, including Microsoft, Oracle, HP, IBM, Dell, Siemens, Canon, Logica, Sony Ericsson, Schlumberger, and Cisco. Along with Dubai Knowledge Village and Dubai Media City, Dubai Internet City is one of the three projects the government of Dubai is launching to establish the city as a global center of knowledge and innovation.
