Businesses Types in SAIF Free Zone

Determining the business type is the first step in commencing the business set up in SAIF Zone. The four main types of business are,

Free Zone Establishment (FZE)

A sole person can establish an FZE in SAIF Zone with a minimum capital of AED 150,000.00

Free Zone Company (FZC)

FZC requires a minimum of two people and a maximum of five people to set up the business. If SAIF Zone Authority approves, the number of shareholders can be extended up to seven. The minimum capital requirement is same as that of FZE.

Branch of a Foreign Company

Any company, which is already established in a foreign country can set up its branch office in the SAIF Zone, with the name same as the parent company.

Branch of a UAE Company

Any company established in any free zone or mainland in the UAE can extend its branch in the SAIF Zone, with the name same as the parent company.

License Types in SAIF Zone

A business license is mandatory to carry out any business activity in SAIF Zone, like in any other region. The free zone offers different licenses depending upon the business activities.

Industrial License

To carry out the import of raw materials, manufacture, assemble and export the finished goods.

Commercial License

For the import, consolidation, distribution and export of products. Maximum limit is set to three similar product lines.

General Trading License

Obtained under commercial license and allows a wider array of product lines.

Service License

To carry out the service specified in the license; all types of services are permitted unless restricted by the Federal or local authorities.
