The free zone authority for the JLT Free Zone is the Jumeirah Lakes Towers Free Zone (JLT Free Zone). It was founded in 2002 as a government of Dubai strategic initiative with the goal of providing the physical, market, and financial infrastructure necessary to build a commodities market place in Dubai. It has more than 6,600 registered members as of May 30, 2013, comprising both corporations and producers of commodities.
Modern infrastructure, free-hold land, trade networking platforms, as well as business amenities including safe vaults and custom storage facilities, are all present in JLT Free Zone. The Center draws important actors from all points along the value chain of several commodities sectors, as well as from critical support areas including banking, logistics, and insurance. The head of the organization is Ahmed Bin Sulayem.
